Pastor Scott Frady
This Sunday I planned to preach on Romans 3:20-27. As preparations have gone on this week I have concluded that I will not be able to give this passage justice in one week so this is going to be a two week series before we go back to John. Because I am doing one passage over two weeks, I am going to write the Notes From the Study article next week, as a recap of the whole passage. In place of the sermon summary article, I wanted to give you some brief snapshots of some places online that I like to go which challenge my thinking and my walk with Christ. I don’t agree with everything I read on these sites, but they often make me think and that is what I appreciate most about them. Bookmark these sites for a week and let me know what you think. Or better yet, comment on what sites you find consistently helpful to your life in Christ.

Doug Wilson is the proprietor of this blog and while I sometimes disagree with him, he never fails to stir my thinking. Three things stand out about this blog: 1) There are normally several posts each day so if you don’t connect with one thing, you will probably connect with something else, 2) Posts tend to be brief, so if you have only a few minutes you can still profit from the site, and 3) Wilson’s writing style is delightful, he is from the writing stream of a C.S. Lewis or Chesterton.

This has nothing to do with a Def Leppard song from the 1980′s but it has everything to do with setting the world on fire with strong articles primarily from three men: Phil Johnson (who has worked with John MacArthur for years), Dan Phillips and Frank Turk. Each man tries to post at least once a week and they are all thought-provoking.

One of the chief figures in the Young, Restless and Reformed movement, DeYoung’s blog is consistently excellent. His thoughtful analysis of current issues and church life makes his blog a great place to spend a few minutes each week.

Al Mohler is the president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY and one of the best theological minds in the SBC. He used to host a daily radio show which was one of my favorites but now he has moved to two podcasts: The Briefing, which is a daily summary of the news from a Christian perspective, and Thinking in Public, a weekly interview series on theology and culture. Mohler’s biblical wisdom and insight will be a great blessing to you.

There are a couple of our church members who write excellent blogs and I commend their work to you as well.
There are so many great resources online. These are just a few sites that are particularly thought provoking for me. I hope you find them helpful as well.
